Tour Itinerary
| Day 1 | Arrive at Lakeside and settle into your accommodation |
| Day 2 | Spend the day at Lakeside relaxing. Enjoy one of the local walks, a swim in the pool, a cycle ride or one of our outdoor games. Or maybe just catch up on your holiday reading! |
| Day 3 | Enjoy our tour of some of the local villages. See a local goat herder’s village, call in to the local primary school, see a beautiful sari being woven and the work of a local potter, and visit a local coir factory for an insight into how coconut fibres are used. En route enjoy a closer look at local agriculture. |
| Day 4 | Visit the famous temple city of Madurai. See the world famous Meenakshi temple, visit the Gandhi Museum and do some shopping in this vibrant Indian city. |
| Day 5 | Spend another day at Lakeside in contrast to the hustle and bustle of Madurai. |
| Day 6 | In the morning visit the local village market in Athoor. Buy the ingredients for tonight’s dinner. In the afternoon take our cookery lesson and turn the food you bought this morning into a mouth-watering Indian meal! |
| Day 7 | Visit Dindigul, our local provincial town. See the fish market and flower market. Climb up to the rock fort, shop for clothes and souvenirs and visit the local greengrocers before stopping for lunch. In the afternoon visit a local supermarket, buy cut price men’s clothing at a local mill and see one of Dindigul's temples. |
| Day 8 | Enjoy another relaxing day at Lakeside |
| Day 9 | Drive up into the foothills of the Western Ghats and take a walk by the river with its different trees and birdlife. Lunch will be a picnic up in the hills before taking the scenic route back to Lakeside in the afternoon. |
| Day 10 | Take your leave of Lakeside and rural Tamil Nadu. |
